New features anyone?

We’ve been busy. Here’s a roundup of the latest additions to our scanner solution – practical improvements designed to make daily warehouse work a little smoother.

Simultaneous editing alert (soft lock)

Occasionally, two users end up working on the same task at the same time – during inventory counts, for instance, or when processing customer orders.

To prevent data conflicts, autoscan now displays an on-screen notification whenever a task is already being handled by another user. The alert shows the colleague’s username and device number, so it’s clear who got there first.

From there, the second user can decide to step back or deliberately take over the task.

Full-text search in task lists

Task lists show up throughout autoscan: in incoming goods, pick lists, customer orders, and inventory. As those lists grow, finding a specific entry can take time.

We’ve added full-text search with autocomplete across all of them, making it faster to locate what you’re looking for regardless of list length.

Open purchase orders on the incoming goods home screen

Previously, processing incoming goods meant scanning the supplier number first to retrieve the relevant purchase order. Now, a list of all open purchase orders appears directly on the home screen. Users can select the right order straight away – and it’s immediately obvious if no matching order exists yet.

The feature is available for all connected systems that support it.

Scheduled service restarts

The services autoscan relies on can occasionally stop unexpectedly. To get ahead of this, we’ve added the ability to schedule automatic service restarts at configurable times.

A typical setup: the Navision Application Server (NAS) restarts automatically every morning before the workday begins. This way, it is back up and running before the first scan of the day.

Previously, a stopped service meant waiting for the issue to be reported, passed on, and then resolved manually. Scheduled restarts eliminate that chain of delays entirely.

Currently available for the incadea DMS – and extendable to other connected systems on request.
