Companies using our scanning solution together with Business Central can look forward to a new enhancement: lot tracking in incoming goods recently went live!

For many businesses, lot tracking is essential – and for good reason:
- Lot tracking ensures transparency throughout the supply chain.
- It enables compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- It is indispensable for professional recall management.
- It minimizes liability and risk.
To make lot tracking as simple as possible for our customers, we have expanded our scanning solution autoscan: the rollout of lot tracking has begun!
The new feature is currently available to all companies working with the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Starting with incoming goods
We are introducing lot tracking step by step – function by function – within the scanning solution. In the incoming goods module, lot numbers and expiration dates or best-before dates can already be captured.
We have also made sure that capturing data – as well as selecting existing lot numbers – is as simple and intuitive as possible.
Incoming goods sets the stage for a smooth process chain
With the new lot tracking feature in autoscan, employees capture the lot number and best-before date or expiration date directly during the scanning process.
This reduces media discontinuities and prevents transfer errors that could later become costly. Instead of adding lot information retrospectively in the ERP system or documenting it on paper lists, all data is recorded directly at the warehouse location. The data is transferred to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in real time and is therefore immediately available.
This significantly simplifies day-to-day operations: it saves time, creates transparency, and ensures seamless documentation. Especially in industries with strict regulatory requirements – such as food, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing – this fully digital capture represents a substantial gain in operational security.
More features in progress!
Integration into additional pats auf autoscan is already underway – we are currently working on the put-away feature.
That said, lot tracking can already be found in other areas of autoscan. For example, the picking module already includes lot display functionality. Lots are also taken into account during stock transfers.
