Item number in the code doesn’t match the number in the system? No problem!
Our scanning solution provides some code rules to ensure that the correct item number is delivered to your ERP system!
It’s a common problem we see with our customers: the item number embedded in the code doesn’t match the number stored in the ERP system.
For example, manufacturers may add extra letters, special characters, or dashes to their item numbers. There may be a good reason for this, but these altered item numbers can cause confusion at our customers’ receiving docks!
Our scanning solution autoscan delivers clean numbers to the system
To solve this problem, we currently offer about 20 code rules!
Here’s an example: A certain manufacturer is known to store item numbers in the code with additional leading zeros. The rule activated in autoscan ensures that these zeros are filtered out when the number is sent to the ERP system during incoming goods handling.
It’s also possible to configure the system to send both numbers – the edited one and the one with the zeros – to the ERP system for comparison. This way you can ensure that the item is correctly assigned in the ERP system.
These code rules can be added at any time. So, no more worrying about item numbers with suffixes in barcodes, QR codes, and other codes!
